Go hunting

This part of Idaho has some of the best hunting in the world. I spent 17 years of my life in Soda Springs, Idaho. You can jump in your truck and be hunting within fifteen minutes.

My dad and I would hunt Caribou Mountain a lot, located over by Grey's Lake, Idaho.

What I like about this area is that you can hop on your four-wheeler and ride clear to the top of the hill. This is actually my favorite part of hunting.

Then you can ridge sit or ride your 4-wheeler on all of the trails. On opening day it usually sounds like a war zone. You can hear shots for miles, and you can see the whole valley from up there.

People hunt deer, moose, and elk in this same area. There are tons of great places to hunt within 60 minutes of the Idaho Falls area.

Thanks,

Camp at Twin Bridges

One of my favorite places to camp is Twin Bridges located North of Ririe between the bridges going to Sunnydale, Idaho.

There is no charge currently to camp there.

They have bathrooms, shelters, and fire pits, but no water.

The river is near by, and many people go there to fish.

My favorite time of year to camp there is in the fall when all the trees are turning.

It is absolutely beautiful.

There is wood there, but you might want to bring your own.

I have been there several times when it was snowing or raining and was glad that the shelters were there to protect us.

Twin Bridges is really close to Idaho Falls, and you can get there in about 20 minutes from my home in Ucon.

Thanks, Burke Bennett

Hit the Bargains at Deseret Industries

Going to the "DI" must be something lots of people like to do because the parking lot is always packed with bargain shoppers.

In front of the store, they have a donation drop off place for cars to pull around. It seems like the people who donate are always waiting in line.

At 10 a.m. when the store opens, I have seen some people actually sprint inside to get to the hot racks of new stuff.

I know of one lady who shops there every day, and then sells her stuff on eBay.

She must do alright because her cart is always full of the latest bargains.

The address is below. Happy shopping!

Edwards Theater

The Edwards theater is a great place to go see the latest movies.

They have stadium seating, and surround sound stereo.

They are also surrounded by several great restaurants so if you are doing dinner and a movie, you can do it on the same block.

Movies are a great way to get your mind off of whatever you are stressing out about.

Disc Golf

Disc Golf is rapidly becoming popular. My brother has an amateur ranking status here in Idaho. Usually the courses are free, and you can play year around.

Idaho Falls has a really nice 18 hole course right at Freeman Park.

It is very relaxing to play disc golf, and you can probably do the whole thing in less than an hour.

It takes more skill than you would imagine.

Below is some of the equipment you will need. My brother has everything so he can practice at home and have the right disc when he golfs.

Amazon has a great selection of products.

Green Belt

The green belt is one of the places I like to go the most. I have run around it, roller bladed, walked, jet skiied, boated, and skate boarded around it.

There are lots of ducks and geese to feed if you want.

The path is about 2.5 miles around the river, and is right below the temple in Idaho Falls.

The falls are awesome with the spring run off.

This is where quite a few people go to exercise on a daily basis.

Colonial Theater

Many people like to go to the Colonial Theater. Sometimes they get some really great performers. They have plays, singers, comedians, and more.

The tickets can be affordable, but as the quality of the performer go up, so do the prices. I have watched a couple of plays there, and they do a really good job.
My mom was a drama director for years in high school, and so I have seen quite a few plays, and musicals myself.
